Strike update - Call for volunteers

Dear WITS friends,

Chicago Public Schools announced that it will extend the hours of Children First school sites, if the CTU strike continues. The sites will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. beginning on Thursday, September 13.

WITS continues to be in contact with other nonprofits to discuss how we can best support our students during this time. If you are interested in exploring ways that you may help at various community centers, we encourage you to visit the Chicago Cares website at www.chicagocares.org/studentsupport.

We will continue to keep you abreast of information about the strike as we learn more.
