Five Year Study
A Longitudinal Study of WITS Program Effectiveness
- The study took a look at the long-term impact of WITS programs on Reading attitudes, Reading Motivation, and Reading Achievement among our students. Overall, results were positive for all three areas.
- Significant differences were found between the control and treatment groups for all categories.
- Reading Achievement Results: Both groups started at 50% probability of success in year one. At end of study, treatment students (or WITS kids) had 74% probability of success while control students only had 39% probability of success.
- Taken as a whole, treatment students were 50% more likely to meet their grade's reading standard than control students.
