WITS Board Members Honored by BPI
CHICAGO, IL - More than four hundred people gathered at the Fairmont Hotel last Friday to celebrate the oustanding achievements of BPI's "40 Who've Made a Difference." In celebration of their 40th Anniversary, Business and Professional People for the Public Interest recognized a diverse group of individuals representing many different fields of endeavor - civil rights, eductaion, law, housing, the arts, and healthcare.
Of those distinguished honorees, WITS is proud to congratulate two of our board members, Bud Lifton and Elliot Lehman for their impact in the Chicago community. Here's what BPI had to say about them:
Elliot Lehman
WITS Board Member since 1996
Demonstrating that a business can be both successful and provide generous benefits for employees and their families, Elliot Lehman is recognized as a national leader in the development of progressive corporate programs and policies that make America more productive and give children a sound start in life.
Bud Lifton
WITS Board Member & Volunteer since 1996
Bud Lifton is a shining example of a successful corporate executive who has made a second career of public interest work, using his considerable expertise and experience to strengthen nonprofits that seek to redress injustice, improve the lives of disadvantaged children, and revitalize distressed communities - not to mention a virtual third career as an educator tutoring Chicago public schoolchildren.
